The Newton Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the 2008-09 Grant Awards – On May 12, 2008, the Board of Directors voted to award $163,583 to support 28 grants throughout the Newton Public Schools. Covering a diversity of curriculum areas, emerging themes include: interactive technology such as SmartBoards, collaborative curriculum development, teacher consultants to address the achievement gap at the high school level, a publishing lab at the middle school level and a multi-discipline schoolyard classroom at the elementary level.
