Chryse Gibson is the new Executive Director at the Newton Schools Foundation. As the mother of two students, one at NNHS and the other at Brown Middle School, she is especially pleased to combine her life-long commitment to public education with a position that supports today's education for tomorrow's leaders.

Chryse has a rather eclectic background. "My trade is carpentry. I was one of the first 3 women in NYC to receive journeyman certification. My profession is organizational development with an expertise in strategic planning. My passion is working with organizations as they build their capacity to fine-tune their vision, activate their mission and reach their objectives."

While Chryse was born in the States, she has lived with her family in Canada since 1982. Chryse has extensive experience in non-profit development and management. She has worked with a diversity of organizations including among others Oxfam Canada, Youth Challenge International, Living Ahead and most recently the Women's Future Fund. Having earned an honours degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Chryse is happy to come home.
